Unfortunately not, i live in Pendle in Lancashire and the nearest radio ham shop is in Barnsley in Yorkshire.

you are right moj but modern radio cater mainly for cb/marine/pmr, they don't actually sell any amatuer radio sets.

There used to be quite a few radio shops across the north west but these have sadly died out. Stockport had a good cb/radio shop and waters and stanton in Matlock was very good (both gone now).

Don't automatically discount CB shops.
I have a feeling that Rocket Radio in Litchfield (Hertfordshire) started as a CB Shop & they certainly still sell CB's, but are a great source for amateur radio & Scanning kit.
CB King is just a CB dealer, but they have been trading for years for a good reason.
I first used Knights Electron from Lincolnshire in about 1980 when it was a CB shop. Now it deals in CB & Amateur radio kit.
Nevada who now own Waters & Stanton, started out selling both CB & Amateur radio kit.
