The Times reports that RAF Scampton, former home to the Dambusters & current home to the Red Arrows & 1 Air Control Centre, is to be closed by 2022.

Else where I found a quote from last year that says..

In June 2012 the Government announced it had axed a plan to move the Red Arrows to RAF Waddington and Armed Forces minister Nick Harvey confirmed it would remain at Scampton until at least the end of 2020.

The BBC posted the conformation at about 1130am.

The home of the Red Arrows air display team is to be sold off, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) has confirmed.

They were based in Cranwell at one point years ago & there was a suggestion that they would move the RAF Waddington a few years ago, but that was dropped & then last year it was suggested that they were moving to the civilian Doncaster Sheffield Airport.

Nothing would surprise me anymore with our pathetic government which is actively plotting to undermine democracy.
Sadly morons will still vote for them next time...

I suppose the question is simply what happens at Scampton? If it is just the Red Arrows, then it makes sense to shut it - if, however, it is a busy place, that would be different.
