Make sure you set the receive mode to AUTO when you are searching. You should come across plenty of DMR signals, when you land on one the screen will display DMR (or whatever ever other mode it is) to let you know. 162.000 to 170.000 and 440.000 to 462.000 are two good search ranges to use. If you are in range of any there are also quite a few DMR amateur repeaters on 439MHz.

Also a lot of DMR transmission will transmit data more than voice. The AOR DV-1 when searching only usually stops briefly when it is data but will stop properly when it is speech and decode it in real time.

Hi I brought my Aor ar dv 1 in January 2016,I have found my set to work well in the London area.
Other bands to check for dmr 453.000-454.000 nfm and 455.000-457.000 nfm .
I use a pre amp and loft antenna and receive signals up to 30 miles away .
Also only 5 frequencys I have noted which are repeaters on pmr are now
using encryption ,Cheers Carl.

Only P25 nets are at USAF bases, Menwith Hill (encrypted), and British Army on Salisbury Plain.
Some of the control channels change now and again.

Fairford 406.625
Welford? (possibly) 407.75
Lakenheath 410.425 / 411.675
Mildenhall 414.15
Croughton 417.725
Molesworth 404.525
Menwith Hill 405.95 / 406.325

Salibury Plain (multiple sites) 416.275 / 416.6 / 418.675 / 418.775

?? 416.075
?? 419.075

I wouldn't be surprised if the US Embassy in London is a user, but too far from me, so I don't know what the freq is.

I don't have an AR DV1, but with the Uniden BCD536 you need a decent signal to be able to decode them.
I reserve the right to ignore people who have made no attempt to the read the manual, and expect others to do it for them.

Still amazed that all other scammer makers have been caught with their pants around their ankles and AOR have the stand alone DMR market cornered and can charge what they like.
Surely the Chinese makers must be able to knock something up.
