Two Frequencies on the same band

Postby benqprready » Sun Aug 07, 2016 9:41 am

I need some help i am using a AOR AR-DV1 mobile scanner, i am trying to listen to my local railway station on 453.550 but this seems to be a popular frequency on the railway as i am picking up two signals. Is there anyway of blocking one so i can listen to the other one?

I would think the station radios are using CTCSS, the AR-DV1 can do a CTCSS search and display the required code, enter this code and all you will hear on the channel is the radios with that CTCSS code..

If they are using CTCSS this should work, if they are using DCS (digital coded squelch) set the screen up for DCS.
In both cases when they transmit the CTCSS/DCS should be displayed on the receive screen..

That frequency is used by Network rail all over the UK. You need to find out what tone they are using and then save them into your scanner so thats all you hear.

The AOR AR-DV1 digital receiver has the facility to scan for either a CTCSS tone or a DCS tone ..
