dPMR and NXDN4800 on AOR DV1

Postby jimh » Fri Oct 28, 2016 11:28 am

Good opportunity for folks with an AOR DV1 to test out the decode of these modes, with the Wales Rally ongoing (the comms are broadcast from an aircraft, so can be heard for 100+ miles).
Freqs to listen to are:
467.275 dPMR
464.800 dPMR
467.300 NXDN4800
467.325 NXDN4800
Plus some analogue on 165.050 and 165.075.

Picking up 467.275 with a good signal here.

The AOR DV1 is picking it up and recognising it as dPMR however unfortunately it sounds like it's encrypted as it's garbled even though the signal is good.

Thanks....do you get any Talkgroup or User ID info on the DV1?

The 467.275 channel is believed to be used by the TV Crews.
165.075 is used by the SIT Timing engineers (most of it is in Spanish), but given that it's quite active, it's a good marker to see if you can pick up the comms from your location.
The other channels are used by the WRC teams, so you'll hear it burst into life at the end of stages with times of the cars.
DSD+ can be used to demodulate the NXDN4800 and dPMR, but it only decodes the audio for the NXDN4800 channels (there is no dPMR codec in DSD+ atm).
