really appreciate the feedback, very, very, helpful... As Mike said "research, research and research..." and I have been doing some more reading on the web: I appears that the TRX seems to be less user-friendly than the Uniden, and given the type of scanning and searching I do the Uniden could be first choice... Think i'll pop along to ye olde radio shoppe and take a look...

Be aware very few dealers would be able to demonstrate a digital scanner working and will fob you off that they are too busy, the dog is sick. etc. If you want a demo, phone them up for a demonstation appointment and see what they say :smiles:
