how to find DMR and decode them fairly simply

Postby Bogget » Thu Oct 31, 2019 12:06 pm

So you have an analogue scanner or radio that will scan and you have a DMR capable radio the one I am using here is the Ailunce HD1.
Its fairly simple if your patient to find DMR signals if you search say 453Mhz to 456 your analogue radio will keep stopping with a https://www.sigidwiki.com/images/6/64/DMR.mp3 tone type of sound, make a note of these freq on a pad take the most popular one and in my case I use the Ailunce software (DMR is broken down in to 2 slots and 16, 0 to 15 colour codes giving you 32 variables on each frequency) so program the freq in to your ch1 and give it cc0 slot 1, then ch2 freq again and cc1 slot 1 and do that for the 16 cc s then on ch17 switch to slot 2 and repete all the cc0 to cc15 so you end up with all the variables and turn on promiscuous mode on all channels

So to clarify

Ch1 455.675 cc0 slot1
Ch2 455.675 cc1 slot1
Ch3 455.675 cc2 slot1

ch17 455.675 cc0 slot2
ch18 455.675 cc1 slot2
etc etc etc.....

I tested it on a known DMR use freq and it found them very quickly…..
Yes it’s a bit fiddly but it did work.

this is just a basic way to search for DMR its not quick its not sophisticated but for some transmission it works.
