SWR METER QUESTION

HOW WOULD I GET A SWR METER TO WORK ON BAOFENG UV-5R, AS ITS MY ONLY SOURCE OF RADIO GEAR AT THE MOMENT BECAUSE I WANT TO BUILD A 2M/70CM SLIM JIM FROM 300 OHM RIBBON CABLE

You simply use either a patch lead with a SMA one end & a PL-259 the other, or use sma to SO-239 adaptor, or adaptors to achieve it..After a problem with a Moonraker handheld antenna, I now often check handheld antennas before I use them..I also use a ladder line folded dipole myself & do check the SWR on that from time to time..
