I have just noticed this on the Southgate ARC news site..

For over 10 years, HamTests has provided a free range of resources to help prepare for the UK Amateur Radio exams

HamTests supports all levels with practice exams and some training lessons for Foundation, Intermediate and Advanced exams.

It helped build confidence and knowledge of the exam syllabus to get candidates familiar with the testing process in preparation for the real radio amateur exam.

An announcement on the site says:

It's with great sadness to announce that on the 1st of September will be closing, Paul (M0TZO) & Peter (2M0SQL) have been running the service for over 10+ years supporting over 20,000 users develop their skills within amateur radio.

We would like to thank everyone for their support over the years and wish everyone well within the hobby, we might even hear you on the bands for a chat.

If you have any questions about the news you can contact us in the usual way.

You can still make use of the Mock Tests for Foundation, Intermediate and Advanced until September 1 at

Perhap the RSGB could be persuaded to take this over?

It costs money to keep a website alive, but perhaps the real problem is all the work that is involved, keeping everything up to date.

It will certainly be missed. It was not just a good website, it was a great website & proof that effort shows.
