Fireground ch 3

Postby Minus1 » Sun May 26, 2019 8:45 am

So yesterday I caught a fire engine on 457.0875 asking another user to switch to "Channel 3".
They then both popped up on 457.4875
(This was using FMn analog)

I've long had ch 3 as 457.0125
and 457.4875 as ch 9.

This new assignment of ch 3 to 457.4875 doesn't match any of the various plans I've ever seen.

I didn't catch a callsign or location, so it could have potentially been West Mids / Warks / Staffs.
I reserve the right to ignore people who have made no attempt to the read the manual, and expect others to do it for them.

As everyone changes over to digital handsets, they have been fiddling with the channel bandplan.

this is the current one everyone seems to be now following: ... plug_0.pdf

Would appear areas are not all set to 1 plan.

457.4875 has always been ch.3 (BA channel). Some time ago it seems that somebody invented channel numbers despite the official band plan being in the public domain for years. Seen evidence of the made-up channel list being copied time and time again including the input channels incorrectly listed as single freqs.

I used to get them on 457.4875 using breathing apparatus all the time.... now they use it for training and a secondary channel for 457.0375.... my fire service (Nottinghamshire) are still analogue so no new bandplan in force here yet...

Gorleston is still using 457.0375 analogue.
edit: just heard them on 457.1875 too.
