Clear User Data on 3600 / 436

Postby AndrewIrvine » Tue Jun 30, 2020 6:56 pm

I still can't get out the loop of the 'Clear User Data'. A new memory card, formatted, firmware updated, reset, database reloaded, nothing is changing it. I've tried the card in the radio and an adaptor into my laptop. Still nothing. This is getting very frustrating. I had it working, went to change the search ranges and it hasn't worked since.

I'm using Sentinel

I can't get past the 'clear user data' message on the radio. I can upload the database, update the firmware etc using a card adaptor on my laptop. The USB cable isn't registering on my laptop. I've been asking on here, a Uniden group mainly with Americans and on here. The radio was fine about 3 weeks ago, nothing has changed. It fell apart when I wanted to upload customised search ranges.

I can't get the USB Mass storage or whether I want to charge the batteries message

The number of times I've taken the sd card out the radio I have a fear of damaging the card holder. I emailed Avera, they didn't know how to help. I'm debating whether the problem with the radio or the cable. I've tried the reset thing to, 2,9 Dept and power up, that doesn't help.

I uninstalled the Sentinel, reinstalled it, it still remembered the profile I had

So when you do the clear user data does it just crash? I was told to never change the search settings as it caused issues so never have.

It formats the card in an adaptor, it can't find it when I wire the radio to the laptop. The cable isn't registering with the laptop device manager. I was told to format it by FAT32, nothing else, my laptop on Windows 10 gives a choice of exFAT 32 and I think it's NTSF.

Avera are being no help at all. I changed the search settings because the default set don't include marine band.

Just found it in the device manager, it says it's working properly., probably not really.

A lot easier to change the search settings by using the key pad on the set rather that plugging it into the laptop.
