Hi everyone
I'm thinking of buying a second hand Yaesu VR 5000 for £500 (seller says it's in good condition). Does this price sound about right? and if I were to buy it, which antennae would work well with it? Many thanks

A quick look shows Radio World, who are renowned as the most expensive place to buy anything secondhand, has one for £21 less.
And Martyn Lynch has what looks to be a new one. So old stock, as it's no longer made, for £573.
If it's in as new condition with the box etc, then I would personally go to £450. But I would need to know the person selling it & thus that the radio was as presented to go to £450 without the warranty that you would get for the same money from a dealer.
£500 is top end, even for one from a dealer, as they were only a few pounds more than that new & thus less than that, without the VAT.
