The first F35s are now due in June, earlier than previously thought:

Nice if you are anywhere near Marham…

About 30 miles in a straight line.
But radio wise I hear more from Lakenheath which is about 37 miles.

lucky me lol hope they are using runway 06 as I wont even have to leave home to see the arrival

Post on Fighter control suggests late afternoon on the 5th as the proposed delivery date so the roads around the base will be very busy with "considerate parking " as occurred when the Vulcan did its final visit

The four aircraft involved (ZM145, ZM146, ZM147 and ZM148)

If the RAF got their act together with a local farmer, they could raise loads of money in parking fees for RAFA, but we know they won't

Don't forget that these are F35A aircraft not the VTOL aircraft for the carriers they are not due for years. The ones for 617 sq are normal t/off and landing. Michael.

Norwich airport was being used as some sort of way point today. Aircraft that looked like they were out of Marham were turning & burning overhead all afternoon & making one hell of a noise as they did so.

I believe the ones arriving will be F35B according to the 617 Squadron website ,FC and Scramble. The F35B is the STOVL version and is capable of vertical landing on suitable ships and take offs from ships fitted with a "ski ramp"
