MIZUHO SKY COUPLER KX-3

Postby Paul338 » Fri Jul 06, 2018 8:19 am

Hi guys.
A little help here please, I have been given a Mizuho sky coupler KX-3 antenna preselector which had been stored away for a few years.
It looks to be in good condition, but no instructions as to the correct way to feed the antenna in and out to the radio.
Does anybody know this piece of kit and tell me the correct way to feed the antenna ( a long wire ).
Many thanks.
Paul

It is the same ATU as a Global & I have a Global AT-1000, which I belive is identical to the KX-3. The KX-3 is also very similar to the older KX-2, but the KX-3 has the ability to connect to both a PL-259 connection & a long wire.
Try these....

These are brilliant ATU's & can act almost as a band pass filter as you need to switch bandpass to band pass & can then adjust the Q to in effect narrow the filtering further. As the tuning becomes very sharp, thus making a signal a few KHz away out of tune & weaker to your radio.

Good luck with it. They are lovely ATU's & better than most SWL ATU's on the market.

Ok, gave it a good try yesterday evening and it works very well indeed, I did find that the very hot weather
we are getting is effecting the bands a lot but I am happy with it. Not bad for a freebie lol
