Moonraker g scan antenna any good for transmit

Postby corps012588 » Tue Oct 08, 2019 6:32 pm

Sorry if this is a stupid question but I bought a moonraker g scan antenna for my scanner and it works great on the car. My question is would it be ok for transmitting using a uv5r and adapter.
It has air capacitors on it

Moonraker does not give a TX frequency for it, so the simple answer is no.

Try a dual band micro mag antenna. I have been using them for years & for wat they are & what they cost, they really are very good.

This sort of thing..

Personally I use the cheap ones off ebay, as they are preferable to Moonrakers build quality.
