How best to get on the air...

Postby Dave In Herts » Sun Dec 22, 2019 1:46 pm

Presume i will get my foundation license, this is a hardware question....

I have a nice SDR setup, plenty of aerials up on a pole ;) I use FL-Digi and other software for decoding RTTY, FT8 and other non-voice comms.

The software is internally piped from the SDR and all works really well.

Got me thinking that I want to get out on the air using these methods to start with maybe voice later.

What I want to know is - is there a USB connected TX box that would work HF at 10W - I guess its a SDR Transmitter?

Google search shows very little that makes any sense, maybe i'm searching on wrong terms.

Trying to get up on as little money as possible.

Any ideas? If not possible then what is the best HF radio that will get me connected to my PC and out on the air? 2nd hand is fine due to costs.
