Following my visit to London Zoo today,I can confirm that 169.8500 is active,Analogue Simplex.
Various zoo staff, mainly what you'd expect I guess, keepers asking what treats each of the four Sumatran tigers(male, female, and their two cubs)were getting today. Also a keeper asking another if she was doing the Llama walk at the usual time.
Also general chit-chat amongst staff.

Are you sure it's a single freq? It's the input for 165.050 which has beamed out over North London for many years and is confirmed by the WTR.

As far as I'm aware, yes. But needed to be discreet re keeping my scanner out of sight as much as possible.
I looked when that particular frequency was transmitting, but it was definitely a two way conversation(ie keeper to keeper etc.)

Was the tone 186.2 by any chance?

I don't have tones selected, but from an old reply to me on zoo freqs,I believe that's the tone in question.
I listen mainly to our local Citywatch,so don't use tones othewise I'd miss some TX on there.

Yes I saw it,and was saddened by it of course, but what has it got to do with a four month old thread about radio frequencies?
