WTR & NGR Format Help...

Postby iScottybotty » Thu Mar 22, 2018 6:00 am

Hi all,

I’m trying to use the WTR, however I’m struggling with the map and NGR format.

Would anyone know, or be so kind to tell me, the NGR reference for 5+/- of City Hospital, Dudley Road, Birmingham, B18 7QH.

Everytime I enter what I think it is, 459+ pages are coming up with addresses as far as London and beyond... I’m selecting business radio, frequency in MHZ etc but it seems as if it searches the whole of the UK as opposed to the specific area.

Any help, as always, would be very much appreciated.

Thank you.

Mark the area you want in the map box and search, should bring it up at the top of page when it loads then.

You have to limit the search to geographically assigned licences, and a specific area, otherwise OFCOM moronically include all the "Simple UK" freqs which cover the whole UK.
I reserve the right to ignore people who have made no attempt to the read the manual, and expect others to do it for them.

Hi everyone.

Thanks for the replies. I’ve hit the map button but it pops up to say there are to many to show on the map, and to refine the search.

I didn’t however select “area defined” in the second drop down menu, is that the selection I should choose?

Drop down box one: Business Radio
Drop down box two: Business radio (area defined)

I’ll have a play but if anyone could confirm what selections I should be making that would be very helpful.

Thanks everyone, really appreciate your time and help.

"Area defined" means licences that are defined by areas like "England", "Scotland", "Wales", "Northern Ireland".

That is normal, someone started to exploit WTR via an app last year & since then WTR has become less & less reliable. Not that it was very accurate or maintained before that & I am not saying I know that the app was responsible. Just that the more extreme unreliability of WTR seemed to follow the exploitation by the app.
