Deaf IC R20

Hi guys i had an AOR 8200 MK3
which was great and now i have icom but its DEAF have i made a Mistake im using a Watson 881 whip on VHF and PMR no problem but ive not heard Nothing on MIL air :sad: :sad:

Do you have a strong signal close by?? As Icoms scanners have a very poor reputation for overloading.

i Have on PMR but nothing mil i have turned gain down aswell never had this with AOR :sad:

I don't suppose it's set up to use the internal AM bar antenna?

hi steve no ext on watson whip its a shame get 16hr on icom battery time
which was poor on the 8000 mk3 may sell it and get the AOR 8000d sounds a big improvement just a bit exspensive and quiet after 1.4 ghz

Looking around it would seem the R20 is deaf on Mil Air. With a recognised loss of sensitivity in the 280 to 295 MHz area.

Loo at page one, top right image, the higher that line is the lower the sensitivity & the top right is Mil Air only, because of that massive spike.
