The WTR has listed 5 or so UHF repeater sites for Swaledale marked as digital for a year or two but the usual 147/155 analogue repeater freqs still seem to be used.

I have been trying a lot of the mrt frequencies and have had no comms at all.

Could someone point me in the right direction?


Is the list at the top of this post still up to date? I notice it was written in 2012.

Have mrt gone digital? I know there was talk of this?

I notice a poster was from Barnsley, same here but still nothing and im at the top of a great hill.

I hope someone can help me with this issue as im begining to think either im doing something wrong or that the frequencies have changed.

MRT list still current but depends where you are as not many mountains in Barnsley.

Go to say, North Wales, The Lake District or the Scottish Highlands and find a high point to sit and hardly a day goes by without one or more of the teams being called out.

During to recent floods in Cumbria pretty much all of the teams were out. Likewise in the Scottish Borders and then in the Highlands.

Busy teams like say Patterdale or Glencoe appear to be called out a couple of times per week if you are in the area. Most have websites listing callouts and some even describe radio equipment or location of repeaters. Bolton comes to mind.

Guess from Barnsley you may just get the likes of the Calder team or perhaps on or the Peak Dist teams but they are are not as busy as the teams in the mountains.

...there are a few ALSAR using a DMR SARCOM system and Bucks Search Dogs but the DMR SARCOM is NOT part of the main UK SAR bandplan which is in the first post and accurate.
