They are worth the money and look like "proper" radios. To be fair in my experience they only perform on par with a lot of PMR446 sets when it comes to range, even though the 888 has more power than the half a watt on 446. It does not compare to a popular proper handheld, like the Motorola GP320, Motorola GP340, Motorola GP360 or other UHF radios such as Icom, Kenwood, Yaesu etc.
