Scanning in Kent

Postby chrisinuk » Sun Apr 06, 2014 10:35 am

Dear All,
I am located in Ashford Kent and am looking to make contact with other scanners in Kent for frequency exchange etc. I am using a Unident Bearcat 3500XLT scanner and an X-30 N 2M 70CM DUAL BAND COLLINEAR ANTENNA . be good to hear from anyone else in Kent so that we can share (ideally 3500xlt set ups/frequencies) to put straight into our scanners data base or just swap frequencies in use locally etc. I used to use the scanning yahoo group but not sure if thats still running now?
Thank you all for your time in reading my message.
Regards Chris

Hi Chris

Yep, Paul closed the old SCANPROMA Yahoo Group and a lot of us came here. There is a new yahoo group that was set up to replace it called UK Scan Group which you can find Here but it's not as active as Proma was, it does have a good group of members though.

I'm nowhere near Kent but I've listed a couple of recent active frequencies below to get the ball rolling and maybe you and other members will chip in...

Arrow Taxis, ASHFORD - 165.3500

Elite Security Services, Ashford - 168.2125

Kent County Council, ASHFORD - 453.075

GB7DX Digital D-STAR Repeater, ASHFORD - 439.7000/430.7000

Not my area but try these which I've seen reported:
446.7875 FM BBC Radio Kent
446.8375 FM BBC Radio Kent

Not much military air traffic in the SE, but when there is, it'll likely be here:
275.625 / 128.25 Swanwick Mil SE ICF
I reserve the right to ignore people who have made no attempt to the read the manual, and expect others to do it for them.

There are a lot more exciting things than Hospital Porters to listen to in this area!!

Cab Secure Radio still active on the high speed line - 454.89375 and also 454.93125 for Ashford Area 86. Only a few calls a week though, often with questionable English as many of the train drivers are French!

457.0375 Fireground also active whenever there is an incident.

Ashford Designer Outlet Night Security: 453.85 DCS023. Need to use the tone to block out the secure digital main system operating on the same frequency, often causing interference.

Hitachi Train Depot - 453.7 and 453.175
