457.5375 / DCS 131, week chat and beeps, haven't a clue where it's coming from, mainly heard at night, usually with music in the background.

i know it's an onboard channel, but there are no ships near to use it. Heysham harbour is near to where I am, but it's all freight apart from the Ben-My-Chree. It sounds like a nightclub more than anything

think it may be MC college as there was mention of front and back car parks which MC has.

the easy part is finding stuff the tricky part is trying to figure what they are and can sometimes be boring when sat there listening to just one channel.

165.9875 with 4.8 split is another taxi frequency.

if you are very lucky and near to MC shore or get in to a higher position you may just pick up Irish cg on 156.800 also working channel 67 marine band.

It was the sports centre that gave it away. I'm about 50 yards from the sea when the tide is in, but not high up. I'd dearly love to put something up on the roof, but the flat on top is someone else's property. All I have just now is a Skyscan on a biscuit tin sitting on my window sill. I'm one floor above the ground.

been on the air for a long time but never worked out who they are, they all ways have a good yap while picking people up and good for any traffic reports like the others.

andy if you don't then consider running a pre-amp in line it does work well as i found out when living in flats around the area, i had a watson with built in pre-amp and ran it above a door frame and could easily pick up Blackpool from Morecambe.

where i am now inside is like a dead band so need loft or outside stuff strange though that i can pick up and transmit using inside aerial on 10 and 11mt bands also able to pick up lower sw bands inside where vhf is totally dead.
