Which Scanner

Postby ChrisJ » Fri Jul 06, 2018 8:57 am

Hi Everyone,
new to the forum and new to scanning, I live under the flight paths of two airports EMA and BHX, I would like to listen to the planes, can anyone recommend a scanner for this, something not too difficult for a beginner to use please?.
Thanks in advance,
Chris.

UBC125XLT appears to be the most popular starter scanner but for simple airband operations a secondhand AR109 from fleabay around £40-50 would be suitable for monitoring aircraft inbound to your locals there is a maycom AR 108 on fleabay at present for less than £20 if your budget is very small

Have you found Flight Radar24 or ADS-B Exchange yet?
For ADS-B click on Global Radar View, just above the large aircraft image.

https://www.flightradar24.com/52.64,1.12/9

https://www.adsbexchange.com/

Global radar is the best if things like military aircraft & Police helicopters etc interest you.
Buy a database from Kimmy JS19 via http://ukscanningdirectory.co.uk/
Or do Google search of this forum via http://www.google.com/cse/home?cx=partner-pub-6291336405621919:2662881632
