Worked all Postcodes.

Postby m0lsx » Thu Nov 29, 2018 2:58 pm

I spotted this on Southgate ARC's news site.

The challenge is simple. Work as many postcodes as possible

Maximum Power 10 watts RF output
Any Mode
70MHz (4 metres)
144MHz (2 Metres)
430MHz (70 cms)
1296MHz (23 cms)

This is for fun and designed to increase activity on the above bands

Wednesday will be activity night with suggested frequency of 144.265 433.265 1296.265 or regular calling channels

Simple awards will be given for working postcodes on a single band/mode (2m FM or 70cm SSB for example)
These will be for
30 plus,
60 plus,
100 plus
and Worked all post codes

We will introduce logging apps for Iphone, Android and Web

Launch date is January 2nd 2019

This scheme will be self-policing and awards software generated.

Please keep an eye on the Moonraker blog for details.

Why not simply encourage people to Work All Britain on 10 watts, or less :?:

It would be better than by postcode... someone can not get a decent long distance contact but be in a city and get many different postcodes... and beat someone in the country who has reached people at a lot further distance with better operating performance... which makes no sense... unless they restrict it to the first 2 digits of a postcode...

Personally I would change...

Work as many postcodes as possible

to...

Work as many towns... cities... or even counties as possible...

Worked all Britain squares are only 10km by 10 km, so it should be within the ability of anyone to go out & work a few WAB squares, even on 2 FM.
