I was watching the following video (screenshots above) on YouTube....

The large VHF looking antenna on the police bike got my attention, does anyone know what this is as it doesn't look TETRA?

He has his usual police issue tetra radio on his chest but the large VHF looking antenna must be connected to some kind of radio that is part of his bike, does anyone know what it is? He is an officer from Cheshire Constabulary.

Sleeve dipole cut for 400MHz wish, just on a tall mount to get it higher.

I hope his radio is securely attached to his jacket. Look a little "iffy" to me.

So were it to drop off and you were to find it would you quietly whisk it away or take it to the nearest police station or both after having a little play/listen with it?

All of the radios on the network identify themselves & gps can be activated from control. I saw this in action during a visit with Raynet. They showed us where all of the guys were, who were out in speed camera vans. And then like with Google maps you can zoom in & out. So you can see a County or just a few hundred yards of street.

Looks to be on a "klickfast" fitting so has to be twisted on the ratchet before it can come off.
