Air Frequencies - Midlands

Postby JimColin » Sat May 02, 2020 2:13 pm

Hi all.

First time user on here and first time scanner owner.

I have a Uniden UBC125 and I am based in Lichfield. I am interested in Civil and Military Air Frequencies and I wondered if anyone here has some frequencies I can monitor?

Currently heard activity on;

East Mids Radar - 126.1750
Birmingham Radar - 123.9750
East Mids Tower - 124.0000
Birmingham Tower - 118.3000
Lichfield Corridor - 252.8750

Anymore would be very welcome.

Thanks,
JimColin

Thanks for this. I have added them to my Bank. Hopefully start to pick things up.

252.8750 seems to be active with military near me, the most interesting frequency I have. Any more like this would be much appreciated.

Appreciate the help on here for a beginner such as I.

252.875 is Swanwick military west and is most likely to be from your nearest TX location if you can hear the ground station (Daventry) so try 259.625 and 341.675 which are also transmitted from there

252.875 is not Swanwick Military 'West'.
252.875 is Swanwick Mil Central South ICF- transmitted from Daventry (-5kHz offset) and Clee Hill (+5kHz offset)
259.625 is a West secondary frew - 259.630 from Clee Hill, I haven't checked Daventry for it.
341.675 is a Central South secondary freq. 341.680 from Clee Hill. Again not checked Daventry but probably -5kHz offset.
It's not unusual to hear nothing on secondary freqs for ages.

280.35 is Swanwick Mil West ICF (280.345 from Clee Hill).
278.6 is Swanwick Mil South West (278.605 from Clee Hill). Other tx is probably Davidstow in Cornwall.
292.525 is Swanwick Mil Central South, specifically for the Lichfield Corridor.
277.625 is Swanwick Mil Central North (used to be 'NW'). Tx at Kelsall. Not checked if any offset.

See official map at https://www.aidu.mod.uk/aip/pdf/enr/ENR-6-6.pdf - which has the VHF freqs too.

Thanks everyone. Very helpful indeed. I track movement with Freedar.uk and this works quite well for spotting.
