Newbi here needs your advice

Postby fox-trot-tango-44 » Fri May 08, 2020 3:32 pm

Hi looking to get back into sw listening again after some 50+ years absence, looking for a simple tabletop receiver plus simple antenna set up but will do a good job on the sw band with a budget of about £200.
bought the Tescan PL-880 hoping this would get me there, but in the back of my mind thinking this is not the one, not really interested in the other wavebands ie FM AM LW or maybe I am wrong not to be looking at these wavebands. looking for advice and guidance. thanks in advance for any help given. cheers ray

Welcome back to radio listening...

Your Tecsun receiver covers Short Waves from 1.7 MHz to 30 MHz, and has SSB modulations too, so what's the issue?

You just need to accept the idea that there is a learning curve, and take the time to read forums and sites such as https://swling.com/blog/tag/tecsun-pl-880/
