Are you sure this is DMR you are hearing on 458.5625 and not Telemetry?

458.5625 is used for Telemetry, one such product for example is http://www.rfdatatech.co.uk/downloads/XRTmanual.pdf

Hi Steve thanks for getting back to me,
so i live in Folkestone, Kent.
I have been scanning on my SDR and i came up with a frequency that was showing me CC13, not sure if you know but the SDR seems to be off frequency of at least mine is,
so i have had to press the PTT button a couple of times on my baofeng to detect what frequency it was coming from,
the SDR was showing it as 457.545 but the frequency that i detected was 458.5625,
I have no knowledge on that Telemetry.
but yeah CC was coming up, there was TGS showing, i didn't save those notes ,
Could it be a ship at port with DMR radios or would use in the Dover docks :sneer: hmmm what do you think mate, cheers.

It could be a rouge station..? I have found a few and they tend to transmit where others do not...

Some are unaware they are rogue... for example security firms that buy Baofeng radios from eBay that think because you can buy them they are legal to use in UK... ...oh ....and they are really good because you dont get the usual kids... idiots ...and other congestion that you do on PMR446...

Others know the score... you can buy cheap DMR radios now and program them on whatever frequency you choose... knowing the score they know they could use 446 or simple light frequencies without a license which... to be honest... are safe and fairly unenforceable due to number of users on them... but as they know the score... they know they are open to be listened to as 446 or simple light frequencies are well known... so to chose a frequency not used by any other voice users is the best cheap way for them to get private walkie talkie chat... what I say is taboo... but it is what happens a lot...
